World Mapper gives an interesting birds eye view of where more of the female managers sit. Not suprising, North America and Western Europe top the charts with the most female executives.
A couple of months ago in a panel discussion led by the European Professional Women's Network, 3 top female exectives were asked if they felt any adversion or resistance to moving up in the organization as a result of being a female. Their answer was an astounding "no". But then followed by, "But I work for an American company. If I worked within a European or Latin organization, I'm sure my answer would be different." So apparently, there is still some distance to be covered in the ease of vertical movement for women in these organizations.
